Corran Dean is our newest centre, which opened in 2014 and is run on a not-for-profit basis as a Community Interest Company. Our key service here is our completely individualised, bespoke support.

What we offer:

  • Short breaks or respite for adults
  • Short breaks for families with additional support needs
  • Day opportunities for adults and children
  • Residential stays and day visits for learners from schools
  • Work experience placements and additional learning opportunities for college learners
  • Supported living accommodation

We offer services for schools and colleges, with hands-on activities being a particular strength. Our aim is always to develop young people so that they come away feeling good about themselves and having acquired new skills. As an accredited training centre, we can arrange ASDAN courses and we will take people’s special interests and create a related course. This might be horticulture, animal husbandry or work skills based. Our goal is always to acknowledge and focus on what people can do rather than what they can’t.

Several members of the team are former special school staff and are experienced at developing activities programmes that are enjoyable, fulfilling and contribute towards gaining independence skills.

All of our schools programmes are outcome driven and can be run for a short period, e.g. at half term, or on an ongoing basis. We strive to make our offering affordable for schools and we give a huge amount of value in terms of the experiences we provide and the development we see in the young people we work with. School staff are able to support their young people alongside our staff, providing continuity and a cost effective solution.
